Computer Animation

Computer Animation, also called CGI Animation, generates animated images by using computer graphics. The technique used is similar to illusion of movement made on televisions and motion pictures. Computer animation is known as the digital successor of stop motion animation used in earlier days. Two kinds of animation are mainly used. 3D and 2D animations. 3D animations are rigged with a virtual skeleton to help with movement of characters or creatures. For 2D animations layers are used and sometimes skeletons as well. Eyes, mouths, and limbs are moved by the animator to fit the frame. The difference in appearance of the character in each frame is calculated by the computer automatically. To complete the animation, the animation is rendered to run in smooth movement.
